Golf Drills
Over the next few months, I will be giving you a series of drills that will help improve your game. This month, we will discuss the “Feet Together Drill” which is one of my favorites because it teaches you balance and good tempo. Most importantly, it will show you where the club is at the impact point.
Try this drill by practice swinging (using no ball) with your feet together and two golf clubs in your hand, ie., an 8 iron and a 9 iron. This will slow your swing down and make you feel what your body should be doing and the correct rotation.
After doing this several times, take one club away and hit some shots, keeping your feet together.
Once you have done this several times, you should be able to feel the correct rotation and where your club should be.
Continue hitting balls this way (with your feet together). After about half an hour, you should be able to continue practicing in your normal stance. As a reminder, your feet should never be wider than the outside of your shoulders.
You will be amazed after half an hour to an hour on the range at how beneficial this drill will be to your game, because in golf it is all about your feel!
Great golfing! More drills next month!
